Alder Hills is an urban coarse fishing lake located near the Rossmore estate. It is set within a Site of Special Scientific Interest and offers excellent fishing opportunities for anglers.
What size do the fish go to?
The fishery is home to various species, with some impressive maximum sizes recorded:
- Carp: Up to 30lb
- Tench: Up to 6lb
- Roach: Up to 2lb
What tactics work well?
Anglers at Alder Hills have found that using barbless or micro-barbed hooks is effective in their fishing endeavors. As for fishing times, the fishery is open from 16th June to 14th March inclusive. Night fishing is available for members who possess a valid night fishing ticket; however, it is not available for guests. Each member is allowed a maximum of two rods.
