Set in a stunning rural location near Milton Keynes, Alder Farms fishery offers a fantastic day’s sport to the keen Carp angler. In total, the venue comprises of 3 mature lakes and 4 smaller ponds, all of which host a variety of fishing features.
Pines, Oak and Ash are the mature lakes. Each of the lakes is surrounded by mature trees, adding to the tranquility, and offering anglers a sense of privacy. Furthermore, each spot has numerous spacious pegs, many of which are fully accessible to the elderly and disabled. Additionally, each stretch of water is home to a healthy head of Perch, Bream, Tench, Rudd, and Carp.
Mylo, Pump and Wood are the smaller ponds. Each of these positions are ideal for the novice angler, with the waters holding a variety of small to medium fish.
What size do the fish go to?
In the larger lakes, Bream, Tench, Perch and Rudd tend to weigh between 3 and 8 lbs. Additionally, Carp are landed with frequency in double figures and larger specimen often exceed 20lbs. In contrast, fish in the smaller ponds tend to be lighter, with Carp weighing between 3 and 8lbs.
What tactics work well?
Standard still water methods tend to work well. Additionally, utilising pellets and boilies during the warmer months is beneficial. Also, Worms, luncheon meat and sweetcorn are all popular choices of bait.
