Fishery Information
Alderson Lakes are controlled and protected by Gipping Angling. They are some of the most fished waters that the association controls. There are two lakes here, one of which is the angling association’s premier carp lake at the moment. Lake two is also a fantastic spot for carp, and both lakes hold some extremely large fish other than carp too.
Both of these lakes are very impressive and very exciting to new members of the club. It is very easy to break PB’s on both lakes, and many members join this club for the opportunity to fish these stunning lakes. No matter what species you want to target, Alderson Lakes are worthy of your time!
What size do the fish go to?
In the large lake, the carp go to 36lbs plus. There are also bream and tench to double figures and pike to 28lbs.
The smaller lake has carp to over 20lbs. There is also double-figure bream and tench on this lake too.
What tactics work well?
The larger lake sees a lot of carp anglers, and these tactics work extremely well. A smelly bait will set you apart from the crowd, as will a PVA bag full of goodness. The smaller lake also sees plenty of carp angling with equally successful catches. However, other bottom baits could be considered too. A closed feeder with maggots could secure one of the larger tench or bream, or a method feeder with pellet could catch a nice sized carp.
What facilities are on site?
There are some pegs on the larger lake that are accessible to wheelchair users with close car access. There are also toilets available.
