Fishery Information
Amazon Wood Fishery is just outside Hailsham. It is a peaceful and tranquil complex of three lakes hidden within a tree-lined site. Of the three lakes on the complex, two are day ticket waters, and one is membership-only.
Whether you’re a pleasure angler, or you want to target a new species or catch a lovely carp, Amazon Wood Fishery is a prime location for you! Each of the lakes has some beautiful fish in it. The owner is usually on-site to offer some advice to beginners or some clever tactics to the experts.
What size do the fish go to?
Badger Lake is the membership only lake on the fishery. It is one and a half acres in size and has two islands. There are carp to 30lbs and tench to 7lbs.
Rabbit Lake is a one-acre lake and has three islands. There is carp to 30lbs, eels to 6lbs, roach, rudd and bream to about 2lbs. There are also tench, perch and chub to 4lbs.
Fox Lake is a smaller lake of about half an acre, but it has very similar sized fish to Rabbit.
What tactics work well?
Fishing to the islands with single bottom baits seems to work very well on all of the lakes here. Bait a tight area and keep your hook baits focused on those areas throughout the session. Pole, float and method feeders also work great on all lakes here.

There are disabled pegs available, and you can park next to the lake.
