Fishery Information
The Amport Trout Fishery is a small trout fishery located in the beautiful county of Hampshire. It is only a few miles from Andover and is situated in close proximity to the villages of Thruxton and Amport.
Since it first opened its doors in 2006, the fishery has provided visitors from all over the United Kingdom and the rest of the world with the opportunity to spend a day, half a day, or more fishing in tranquil surroundings. The fishery, which William (Will) Hawkings-Byass owns and operates, was at one time established in a location that was occupied by watercress beds.
The lake is surrounded by picturesque scenery, and its crystalline clarity and refreshing cool temperature are maintained throughout the year by the clear chalk springs. The water is crystal clear, making it an ideal location for stalking, and the lake is brimming with Rainbow Trout, making it the perfect place for fly-fishing enthusiasts.
Children are permitted but must at all times be supervised by an adult, Tickets for fishing are available at the Fish hut and the fishing runs daily from 7 am to dusk.

The lake has recorded 19lb 6oz trout, but the average daily catches are between 4lb and 5jb,
