Fishery Information

Apley Pool is a 5-acre venue that is available on a members or day ticket. Day tickets are available on the bank or on Telford Angling Association’s website. This fishery boasts 44 well-spaced pegs, some of which are suitable for disabled anglers.

This fishery is known for carp fishing but is also home to other fish species such as bream, gudgeon, perch, roach, rudd, skimmer and tench.

Both adult and concession evening tickets are also available for this fishery.

Tins (sweetcorn, luncheon meat etc.), surface or floating baits, spinning or treble hooks and camping are not allowed. Only barbless hooks are allowed on the waters. They do not allow fish to be retained in keepnets or sacks for over 5 hours. The maximum amount of groundbait allowed is 2 kilograms dry weight.

This venue is open all year round and is not available for night fishing.

To get there, follow these directions. Exit the M54, J6 and take the last exit. Go past Tesco and over the mini roundabout. Take the second exit at Ketley Brook roundabout (traffic lights). When you arrive at Furrows Garage roundabout, take the second exit again. At the hospital roundabout, take the second exit. At the next roundabout (Shawbirch), take the third exit. Pass the Maxell factory and park in the lay-by on your right. The fishery is through the gap in the wall.

What size do the fish go to?

In this fishery, carp go up to 20 lbs., tench up to 6 lbs., roach up to 3 lbs. and perch up to 2 lbs..

What tactics work well?

Carps fall to legered hair-rigged boilies, corn, pellets or meat. Tench take carp baits, especially corn. Pellets are effective for fishing roach.

What facilities are on site?

Facilities available on site include car park and disabled access to the pool.

Is parking available?

Parking is available on site, but is not always in close proximity to the disabled accessible pegs.
