Situated near Twintwistle, Derbyshire, Arnfield Fly Fishery offers some of the best wet and dry fly fishing in the country. The waters are surrounded by the Peak district, making it an idyllic place for a day of sport. Furthermore, the mature trees are home to numerous wildlife species.
The venue is placed on the crossroads of Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Cheshire and Lancashire meaning it attracts visitors locally and from afar. Moreover, the water is just the right size for the beginner to learn the art of fly fishing. Additionally, the waters are stocked with a healthy quantity of Rainbow, Brown and Blue Trout.
What size do the fish go to?
All of the fish are grade 1, full-finned and phenomenal fighting fish. Trout are frequently caught in double figures, with the largest specimen exceeding 20lbs.
What tactics work well?
Small spinners, crankbaits, spoons and jigs are all effective methods in these waters.
What facilities are on site?
There is a café on site which sells freshly prepared food as well as a range of hot and cold beverages. Also, the site boasts its own tackle and bait shop, that offers all the essentials. Furthermore, the venue has 10 Loch Lomond boats available for hire.
