Fishery Information
Bank End Fisheries is a wonderful fishing complex in Doncaster. Its two lakes are geared towards match fishing, with loads of matches happening throughout the year. If you’re a carp angler, though, don’t worry, there are plenty of big carp to catch at Bank End Fisheries.
What size do the fish go to?
West End Lake is the more match-style lake of the two here. F1s can get up to 6lb here, and carp average about 4lbs. Weights of over 200lbs are possible here and have been reported in matches.
East End Lake holds some big and beautiful carp to over 30lbs. There are also bream that go to over 10lbs, good fighting tench and some nice roach, rudd and perch.
What tactics work well?
Fishing close to the middle of the lake is always a good option on the lakes here. Both lakes are small enough to fish with a method or a PVA, for example. Pellets, corn, maggots and pastes all work well for hookbaits.
If you happen to arrive at Bank End Fisheries after a matchday and you are keen to catch some big carp, pay close attention to the margins. After matches, big carp have been known to come in a finish off all the free offerings from the match anglers, stick your hook bait in amongst them, and you could bank a quick carp.
What facilities are on site?
There is a bait shop and a cafe on-site, as well as public toilets.
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available.
