Situated in Low Mill Caton, Lancashire, Bank House Fly Fishery is a quaint spot that offers an excellent day’s sport to the dedicated Trout angler. There are a total of 16 available pegs, all of which provide a variety of fishing features, such as pools, reeds and overhanging trees. Furthermore, several of these pegs are fully accessible to the disabled and elderly angler. As well as being notorious for Trout fishing, the venue is a hotspot for wildlife.

The location has been carefully crafted to provide optimal fishing whilst always keeping natural habitats in mind.

What size do the fish go to?

All species of Trout can be caught well into double figures. The course record for Rainbow Trout currently stands at 23lbs. The record for Brown Trout is 16lbs, with the largest Tiger Trout being reported at 10lbs.

What tactics work well?

Fry patterns and small beaded flies are a necessity. Dries are extremely effective for catching Brown Trout, which tend to lie deeper in the water. Shipman’s, CDC buzzers and sedges all come highly recommended.

What facilities are on site?

There is an on-site tackle and bait shop which provides the essentials, as well as all the latest baits and gear. Clean and accessible toilet facilities are open to guests.
