Situated in Mere Brow, Preston, Bannister House Farm Fishery offers an impressive mixed venue for both the beginner and more seasoned angler.
The location has a total of 5 lakes, all of which are healthily stocked with a range of coarse fish. Furthermore, the lakes afford over 200 pegs in total. The waters are home to Tench, Bream, Roach, Rudd, Perch and Specimen Carp.
The venue is extremely popular with local anglers from the Wigan and Preston region. Day tickets start from £7, with children fishing for as little as £5.
What size do the fish go to?
Commons and Mirrors come in at an average of 28lbs. Tench and Perch tend to be in the 6-8lb region, and the match lake has produced impressive results totalling over 200lbs
What tactics work well?
Feeding with maggot has proven to be effective, particularly when double baiting with maggot. In the warmer weather, it is well advised to make use of pellets and boilies. Only barbless hooks are permitted, and nuts are strictly forbidden.
