Fishery Information

Situated in the stunning surroundings of Royal Berkshire, Barn Elms Fishery is an ideal setting for both the novice and more seasoned Trout angler. The site consists of a lake and a small chalk stream. Roxy Lake is approximately 6 acres in size with an average depth of 8ft. Furthermore, the water is stocked every week with a healthy quantity of both Brown and Rainbow Trout. The lake is intimate, with mature trees for shelter and an abundance of wildlife to observe.

The fishing season operates from April to November, Thursday-Sunday from 9am-6pm. The location prides itself on its relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with novices and newcomers always welcome for day ticket fishing.

What size do the fish go to?

The lake is stocked weekly with rainbow and Brown Trout in the region of 2-3lbs. Larger fish are generally recorded with an average of 5-8lbs.

What tactics work well?

Worms, minnows, maggots, crickets and grasshoppers all work effectively as bait. These tend to work well from a suspended float.

What facilities are on site?

Clean and accessible toilet facilities are available on site. The fishery also offers a range of tuition from its in-house experts.
