Fishery Information
Situated in the stunning countryside setting of Goosnargh, Preston, Barnsfold Waters Trout Fishery offers fantastic sport to the keen Trout angler. The venue consists of 2 lakes in total, which are extremely well stocked. Both lakes have numerous spacious pegs which boast a variety of fishing features. Furthermore, several of the pegs are accessible to the elderly and disabled angler.
The waters are open all year round, with tickets starting from £15 (6 hours no fish) and going up to £25 (10 hours, 4 fish). The venue is especially famous for its quality Trout, many of which can be found on the menus of local restaurants.
What size do the fish go to?
Trout tend to average at around 5lbs. However, larger species have been landed on occasion and can reach in excess of the 10lbs mark.
What tactics work well?
Fry patterns and small beaded flies can be very useful. Dries are extremely effective for catching Brown Trout, which tend to lie deeper in the water. Shipman’s, CDC buzzers and sedges all come highly recommended.
What facilities are on site?
Boat hire is available if booked in advance, as well as tuition from the resident experts. Clean and accessible toilet and shower facilities are open to visitors.
