Located in the stunning countryside near Barrow Gurney, North Somerset, Barrow Tanks is a spacious setting that offers a great day’s sport to both the novice and keen angler. There are total of three reservoirs, all of which have plenty available pegs as well easy disabled access.
The wide variety of features such as mature trees, reeds and pools make Barrow Gurney an extremely rewarding place to fish. The venue has become extremely popular with the local community because of the magnificent Trout on offer. However, anglers are always happy to welcome new faces and pass on any friendly tips.
What size do the fish go to?
Both Brown and Rainbow Trout are frequently caught in double figures, with the larger fish reaching 18lbs. A selection of Chub, Perch and Bream can also be found in the region of 2-7lbs, as well as Carp at 20lbs.
What tactics work well?
Using a feeder with sweetcorn, worms or maggots can be extremely effective for larger Carp. During the warmer months, anglers might consider utilising pellets and boilies.
