Fishery Information

Situated near the quaint village of Appley Bridge, Wigan, Beacon View is a tranquil mixed fishery offering great sport for both the beginner and more seasoned angler. The lake is notorious for hosting a variety of coarse fish breeds. As a result, fishermen are guaranteed to leave feeling satisfied after a day of partaking.

The location is around 1.5 acres in size. Moreover, the water’s depth tends to average at around 6 feet, reaching 13ft in the deeper spots. The waters are healthily stocked with Roach, Rudd, Chub, Barbel, Tench, Koi and Specimen Carp.

Opening times are from dawn until dusk, with tickets purchasable from the on-site bailiff support. The cost for day tickets is a very reasonable £6, which includes the use of two rods.

What size do the fish go to?

Roach, Ruch, Tench and Barbel tend to average around 6lbs. Koi Carp frequently reach up to 13lbs, with Specimen carb coming in at the 25lbs region.

What tactics work well?

Utilising a feeder with sweetcorn and worms can be extremely rewarding. Also, using pellets and boilies has proven to be beneficial, especially during the warmer months.
