Belhus Woods Country Park Information
Belhus Woods Country Park has fishing ponds that are reclaimed gravel pits. The park itself is a larger complex of leisure facilities within easy reach of the M25.
Combining a setting of ancient woodlands with the reclaimed fishing ponds makes Belhus Woods an attractive fishery for people living in and around the local area as well those from further afield.
The main fish in the pond are various species of carp. Roach, bream and tench are also present. Expect to land carp of greater than 10lbs.
Belhus Woods is not a match fishing site but more of a leisure fishery. Disabled persons are catered for and there are wooden platforms for those who are new to angling or prefer to fish from one.
With plentiful swims this is a perfect choice of fishery to introduce children to the sport. Night fishing is not permitted.
What size do the fish go to?
Although little information is available it is known that carp of between 10lb and 20lb – and possibly more – are achievable in the two well-stocked fishing ponds.
What facilities are on site?
As a more extensive Country Park facilities at Belhus Woods include a shop selling refreshments, a visitor centre and permanent toilets. A picnic area is also available making this an ideal place for a family day out involving fishing.
Is parking available?
Parking is plentiful at Belhus Woods but visitors should be aware charges apply. These are displayed on boards in the car parks.
