Fishery Information
For many years, the reservoirs in Yarrow Valley Country Park were used to serve an old bleach factory. The big reservoir has been drained and left for a few years before Wigan AA took over ownership of it with Chorley Borough Council who resolved the issue by removing all traces of silt from its bottom-most depths and created this new country park/ nature reserve that will be shared amongst everyone.
The Lodge is a popular spot for fishing enthusiasts with easy accessibility. This fishery has small Roach, Perch and Pike along with an occasional large Tench or good Bream lurking under the surface. In 2014, Environment Agency officials thinned out much of this area by removing carp but in 2015 they stocked 1,500 smaller Crucian Carps into each body of water to replenish the population again
