The Black Beck, also known as Matty Hole and Green Beck, consists of single pool located just below a waterfall at the top of the beat. This body of water is a fell beck, rocky ledged and measures six feet in depth. A few fish enter the system during the warmer months of summer and autumn floods, and swim around the waterfall. They are likely to be enticed by trotted bait while they are relaxing in the pool. Large trees form a border along the bank of the river.
