Fishery Information
Listed among the top 100 small water fisheries in the country, the Blackdyke Trout Fly Fishery is a tremendous place to spend a few good hours.
The spot has a wealth of natural fly life and is home to fighting rainbow trout and a fair population of brown trout.
The lake is eight acres in size, situated near Hockwold-cum-Wilton, and placed just 10 miles west of Thetford.
The fishery is open from 9:00 am until dusk. Reservations are not required, unless anglers want to snag a boat.
Fishing is done through day tickets, most of which are measured on the basis of how many fish have been caught. There are special passes for older anglers and juniors, as well as the opportunity to rent a wheelie boat for disabled patrons.
Anglers can buy season tickets to Blackdyke that allows for unlimited visits across a period of 10 months from September 1 to June 30. There is a four fish per week limit on the season ticket.

The rainbow trout at Blackdyke range from two to a dozen pounds.
