Fishery Information
Chelmsford’s splendid Blind Lane Fisheries is comprised of two lakes and a wide variety of fish for anglers of all skill levels. This property it noted for its scenic approach to all things fishing, which encompasses it in a natural feel complete with plenty of wildlife.
Changes have been made to many of the swims, with Blind Lane Fisheries now providing access to all anglers.
Specimen Lake holds carp and was recently restocked with fish from VS Fisheries, so it’s good to go with plenty of excellent opportunities. There are 16 designated swims on this lake, with depths varying from three to 15 feet.
Match Lake is noted for hosting competitions. Anglers can book matches in certain areas or, in some cases, the entire lake can be rented for a larger group. Recent restocking has boosted the weight gains in Match Lake, creating the perfect environment for vigorous competition.
What size do the fish go to?
Competition-winning weights in Match Lake have reportedly come in excess of 200 pounds, with many catches reaching the 100-pound plateau.
Specimen Lake holds carp up to 30 pounds, with considerable stock ranging between 10 and 20 pounds.
What tactics work well?
Sport at Blind Lane Fisheries follows usual regulations. Keepnets are not allowed and barbed hooks are strictly prohibited. A minimum of 10 pounds of breaking strain can be used on Specimen Lake, with no braided mainline. Anglers must use suitable equipment, including unhooking mats and landing nets.
