Set in picturesque West Midlands countryside near Solihull, Blythe Waters Fishery offers 5 coarse fishing lakes that are home to stunning carp, bream, roach, perch, tench, gudgeon, barbel and chub. This venue is suitable for both pleasure and match anglers.
Known as the main match pool, Bridge Pool is well-stocked with common and mirror carp to 20 lbs, tench to 4 lbs, roach to 2 lbs, golden orfe to 2 lbs, perch to over 2 lbs and bream to 5 lbs.
Developed as a mixed fishery, Willow Pool is well-stocked with carp to under 20 lbs, tench and bream to 3 lbs and roach and golden orfe to 1 lb 8 oz.
Popular with disabled and junior anglers, Cherries Pool is home to tench to 5 lbs, skimmers, roach, perch and golden orfe.
Once used as a trout fishery, Home Pool is now home to carp to over 20 lbs, bream and tench to 5 lbs, barbel, golden orfe, roach and rudd.
Primarily designed for novice anglers, Kingfisher Pool is well-stocked with roach, bream, tench, carp and gudgeon to under 1 lb.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp go to over 20 lbs, tench to 5 lbs, roach to 2 lbs, golden orfe to 2 lbs, bream to 5 lbs, gudgeon to under 1 lb and perch to over 2 lbs.
What tactics work well?
The most commonly used technique on Bridge Pool is fishing with the pole, whilst those using a rod tend to drop their baits near the islands using either a method feeder or straight lead. Popular baits include maggot, caster, bread punch, meat, paste and sweet corn. During summer months, anglers use floating dog biscuits to catch fish.
Cherries Pool is easy to fish and tends to be an out-and-out float water using either pole or waggler on the rod. Most effective baits include maggot and caster or pellets.
Home Pool is most frequently fished on the bottom using boilies or pellets.
What facilities are on site?
This venue offers facilities for disabled anglers as well as pitches for touring caravans. In addition, they also have 5 touring caravans, a car park, a club house, showers and toilets on site.
