Fishery Information
Bosherston Lily Ponds is a 74-acre spring-fed lake system near the Pembrokeshire coast on the Stackpole estate. Well known for its pike fishing, the gin-clear and weedy lakes offer fishing for pike, perch, tench, and silverfish. The National Trust controls the fishing, and there is a strict close season from 15th March to 15th June (inclusive). The lakes have 50 pegs, and fishing is allowed from numbered pegs only.
What size do the fish go to?
- Perch: up to 3lb
- Tench: between 4lb and 9lb
- Pike: between 10lb and 32lb
- Eels: up to 5lb
What tactics work well?
For tench, try float fishing laying on over depth with maggots, sweet corn, pellets, worms, or bread over groundbait. Keep two swims going, as pike often move in on feeding shoals.
Most pike are caught on float-fished deadbaits and popper lures.
What facilities are on site?
Wheelchair-accessible fishing points on the eastern end and western arm of the lake
Some pegs require a long walk from the parking area
