Providing pleasure fishing in the heart of Staffordshire, Botts Pool Fishery dates to at least 1700. Originally used as a club fishing venue in Burntwood, this pool is now a day ticket water. This family run business doesn’t only offer pleasure fishing but also accepts club or match bookings. Annual memberships are also available for this fishery.
If you are looking to fish in a very relaxing spot with exquisite surroundings, Botts Pool Fishery is a must-visit for you. Situated in a secluded area, this water is easily accessible with 18 well-spaced pegs.
Children under the age of 12 can fish for free as long as accompanied by a paying adult.
Night fishing is not permitted. Floating baits, braided mainline or hook lengths and surface fishing are not allowed as well.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp go to 13 lbs, tench to 2 lbs, perch to 1 lb and chub to 3 lbs.
What tactics work well?
Most tactics and approaches work on this pool. Whether you prefer float fishing or applying a simple ledger or method feeder approach, you will surely be successful in catching fish here. Do not ignore the margins as the fish patrol right under your feet.
For catching silverfish like roach, skimmers and bream, use maggots, casters or bread as baits. Popular baits for catching carp include sweet corn, pellet and luncheon meat. For catching perch and tench, maggots and worms work well.
