Fishery Information
Brickfield Ponds is on County Council land, but it is controlled by Brickfield Angling Club, and they have day tickets available. Day tickets for Brickfield Ponds can be purchased on the bank or from the local tackle shop on Wellington Road.
This lake is a nice size and has some lovely fish in it. The club members don’t fish this water too often, so it is nice and peaceful but holds some very impressive fish. There are roach, rudd, carp, bream, tench, perch and more in this lake.
What size do the fish go to?
As Brickfield Ponds isn’t fished too much, the weights of the fish aren’t known too well. Some locals say there is carp here to over 20lbs. There are also some very impressive roach and rudd to 2lbs, bream to about 6lbs and tench not far behind. There is also plenty of fish too. So, if you’re a match-style angler, you can get a good weight of fish in a day session here.
What tactics work well?
We would say that Brickfield Ponds responds best to match style fishing, but don’t be afraid to cast a PVA bag to the middle of the lake as some of the largest carp will happily take it. Feeder fishing is nice and popular here, though, with maggots or pellets, and corn, maggots and meat are all popular hookbaits.
What facilities are on site?
There are a handful of disabled access pegs on Brickfield Ponds.
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available.
