Fishery Information
Situated near Rochdale, Greater Manchester, the tranquil setting of Bridgewater Canal offers an excellent day’s fishing to keen coarse angler. The site is licenced to a number of clubs and has become a staple with the local angling community. The waters boast a variety of fishing features, as well as a healthy stock of Rudd, Roach, Carp, Perch, Bream and Pike.
What size do the fish go to?
Bream, Rudd and Roach tend to be in the region of 3-7lbs. Pike and Carp frequently go into double figures, with larger fish hitting over 25lbs.
What tactics work well?
Using a feeder with sweetcorn or worms tends to work well for enticing the larger Carp. During the warmer months, anglers may also consider using pellets and boilies.
What facilities are on site?
There are a numerous cafes, bars and restaurants along the canal banks, all of which provide fresh food and refreshing beverages at competitive prices. Mooring is available for canal boat owners as well as boats to hire for the day.
