Fishery Information
Brookside Lakes is a fishing complex in Cheshire. It has a fine and long reputation for offering some quality fishing at really good day ticket prices. There are a few lakes on this site, but we are going to focus on the specimen lake and match lake here as these are the lakes that most anglers choose to fish during their time at Brookside Lakes.
Although the specimen lake is considered a carp lake by many, there are loads of impressive species to catch in this lake at good weights. The match lake also has some lovely species, and a big weight is very possible over a day’s fishing.
What size do the fish go to?
The largest carp at this venue go to about 28lbs. There are also some massive roach in the specimen lake up to 3lbs. The match lake has carp to 18lbs, and also has roach to 3lbs as well. Both lakes also have plenty of carp under 10lbs, which is brilliant for adding big weights to your keepnet during matches.
What tactics work well?
There are features like islands and overhangs on both of the lakes here. These are really worth targeting, and most of the pegs have some sort of feature to target. The specimen lake responds well to most carp angling tactics. The match lake is best fished with a pole or a feeder.
