Fishery Information
Budworth Mere is operated by Northwich Angling Association, along with a few other angling associations. It is one of the largest lakes in the region, at over 80 acres in size. This is an extremely large water, and so it can be very tricky to fish. If you’re up for a long walk from the bank to your car, and you are willing to move as the fish do, Budworth Mere can be a very productive place to fish. While it is challenging, Budworth Mere has many local fans and is a popular fishing spot because of the challenge.
What size do the fish go to?
We aren’t too sure how big the fish in Budworth Mere go to. In fact, due to how big Budworth Mere is, no one can really know for certain how big the fish can grow. There are certainly carp to over 20lbs, and winter pike to over 20lbs as well. There are also plenty of large bream and some nice perch, roach and rudd as well. There are some eels in Budworth Mere, too, although they are not fished for regularly.
What tactics work well?
