Situated in Caistor, Lincolnshire, Caistor Fishing Lakes is a stunning location and excellent fishing spot for both the beginner and more seasoned angler. The site comprises of two lakes, both of which host a variety of fishing features.
Heron Pool is the leisure pool and is designed for those seeking peace and quiet plus a leisurely day’s fishing. The water has numerous spacious pegs, several of which are fully accessible to the disabled and elderly anger. The lake is home to a healthy number of Perch, Bream, Tench, Roach and Carp.
Foundry Pool is the match lake and seeks to accommodate the more dedicated angler as well as corporate outings and coaching days. Again, this spot offers several spacious pegs, many of which are fully accessible to the disabled and elderly angler.
The venue is open from 8am until dusk, with day tickets starting from £8.
What size do the fish go to?
Bream, Tench, Perch and Roach generally weigh between 2 and 8lbs. Carp are landed with frequency in double figures, with the largest fish exceeding 20lbs.
Carp go to 50lb in Arthurs pool.
What tactics work well?
Using a feeder with worms or sweetcorn is generally effective. Furthermore, anglers like to utilise pellets and boilies, especially during the warmer months.
What facilities are on site?
There is a restaurant on site as well as accommodation in the form of camping and lodges. Also, clean and accessible toilet and shower facilities are open to visitors.
