Fishery Information
Located in the woodlands of the Kirklees Valley, Cartwheel is a stunning fishery that offers a great day’s sport to both the beginner and more seasoned angler. The water is equipped with numerous decked pegs, several of which are accessible to the disabled.
The site is open to both members and day ticket anglers, with day ticket passes costing £5. Unfortunately, juniors are not permitted to participate on the waters and a valid EA rod licence must be held. The waters are home to a variety of Bream, Carp, Perch and Roach.
What size do the fish go to?
Bream, Perch and Roach tend to weigh between 2-7lbs. Carp are frequently caught in double figures, with larger fish exceeding 20lbs.
What tactics work well?
Standard still water tactics tend to be effective. Using a feeder with sweetcorn or worms can help to entice larger Carp. Anglers may wish to consider utilising pellets and boilies during the warmer months.
What facilities are on site?
Clean and accessible toilet facilities are open to guests.
Is parking available?
Safe and secure parking spaces are available on site.
