Chapmans Pond Information
Chapmans Pond is one of several in the area that was formed when dug-out brick pits began to flood. Located near Dringhouses in North Yorkshire, this venue used to be free, but according to the York City council website, a £15 fee must be paid to bailiffs. Anglers can expect to catch Carp, Tench, Bream, Roach, and Perch. While there aren’t any specimens in the lake there should still be plenty of sport to be had. There are 3 pegs located around the lake, which is around 1 acre in size.
The water is located in a nature reserve and is also quite close to a residential area so it can get busy when the weather is nice!
What size do the fish go to?
Tench and Carp are the biggest fish to be caught. With numbers of 5lb reported.
What tactics work well?
For Roach and Perch, casters or maggots fished under a float works well.
Bread, luncheon meat, and hemp fished on a running ledger is an excellent way to tempt Tench
Is parking available?
While there is no dedicated parking it is possible to park for free on the nearby residential estate.
