Fishery Information
Set in a stunning countryside location near Wrightington, Lancashire, Charity Farm is a popular coarse fishery with both beginners and seasoned anglers. The venue comprises of 4 ponds, all of which boast a variety of fishing features and healthy levels of stock.
The site is open for both day fishing and matches, with tickets starting from as little as £7. Juniors are allowed to fish but must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Disabled access and pitches are available, management ask that you call them before your visit to ensure that everything is prepared.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp tend to average around 15lbs but can go as high as 25lbs. There are also a healthy number of Bream, Tench, Chub and Perch weighing in between the 3-6lbs region.
What tactics work well?
The most popular bait seems to be maggot or caster on float tackle. Luncheon meat and sweetcorn has proven to be very useful in enticing larger Carp. Furthermore, prawns are extremely effective.
What facilities are on site?
The café is open 9am-3pm as well as Fred’s bar being open on Friday and Saturday evenings until 10pm. All of the food is freshly cooked, and ingredients are sourced locally. The venue also operates as a camp site, with various slots available for caravans and tents.
