Chequertree Fishery Information
Situated on the outskirts of Bethersden, Chequertree provides an ideal spot for both relaxation and anglers of all abilities. The location consists of three lakes and offers one of the largest areas of water in the country that has been primed for anglers in both trout and coarse fishing.
The lakes offer a healthy stock of Common, Mirror, Crucian, Leather, Grass Carp, Rudd, Roach, Bream, Tench and Perch. The fishery is popular with daily visitors but also hosts match competitions and Angling Club match days.
Day passes start at £10, with 24-hour passes being offered for £25
What size do the fish go to?
The lakes hold carp up to 35lbs, Tench and Bream up to 8lbs, Chub and Perch up to 6lbs and Roach and Rudd up to 3lbs.
What tactics work well?
Using a feeder with sweetcorn or worms can be rewarding in terms of catching Bream and Carp. Using pellets and boiless can also improve results, particularly in the warmer summer months.
What facilities are on site?
Toilet and shower facilities are available. There is also a purpose-built clubhouse which offers breakfast, light lunches and hot and cold beverages.
