Chesnut Pool is set in the lovely countryside not far from the village of Landford in the county of Bedfordshire. It’s a family-run venue that offers really friendly service.
The lake itself is about 3 acres in size and includes 2 islands in the middle. Depth is between 4ft and 6ft and there are all sorts of different features to fish next to. There are only 20 swims, with the corner swims being the most popular for those who want real peace and quiet.
Fishing here is good for anglers of all abilities, so whether you are a beginner or an experienced angler we reckon you should come and give it a go.
The biggest carp in here are up to the mid-’20s but there is a lot of double-figure fish and a lot of carp between 5lb and 10lb. There’s a good chance you will catch a few double figure fish in each session.
If you night fish here, don’t expect to get much sleep as it’s classed as a runs water. One guy had 29 fish over 12 hours and said he had to sleep when he got home as he didn’t get any when he was there.
If it’s not the carp you are after then there are plenty of other species with bream to 7lb, fantastic golden tench to 6lb and roach and rudd to 3lb
