Fishery Information
Located in Greater Manchester, Chorlton Water Park is a man-made lake between the River Mersey and Chorlton-cum-Hardy Golf Club. It is simple to get to by road and not far from the M60 motorway. A gravel pit used for the construction of the motorway is the foundation of the lake, with the Water Park now a designated nature reserve.
Fishing on the lake is from a number of pegs around the water’s edge. Chorlton Carp Anglers is the club that manages the water, and both day and season tickets for the lake can be purchased from them. It is a pleasant and surprisingly tranquil spot to fish given its proximity to the major city of Manchester.
Carp are the primary fish in the lake and there is believed to be a good head of sizeable fish.
What size do the fish go to?
There are carp of in excess of 30lb in the lake and they have been caught quite often. Smaller fish are also present in good quantities.
What facilities are on site?
Facilities within Chorlton Water Park include male and female toilets, picnic tables and often a visiting refreshment vendor. There is no café on site and there are facilities for children.
Is parking available?
There is plentiful parking close to the lake for visiting anglers.
