Fishery Information
Claremont Farm Fishery is located in the Moss Hey region of Birkenhead, Wirral, close to the M53 motorway. Despite the location, it presents a picturesque, quiet and relaxed place to enjoy good fishing.
The single lake is just one acre and sits on private farmland but is well-stocked with a good head of carp – both common and mirror – as well as bream, tench, roach and other coarse fish. By limiting the lake to 26 pegs the fishery can accommodate a good number of anglers nicely spread out with plentiful space.
The fishery has recently been updated and there is a good footpath around the entire lake, and access for disabled persons and wheelchair users is good. There is a single peg dedicated to disabled anglers.
Popular with locals as well as anglers from further afield, this very easy to reach fishery offers day tickets and is open all-year round with no closed season.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp in the lake are known to reach 12lb, with tench up to 3lb being frequently caught and other fish of decent sizes.
What tactics work well?
Regulars use luncheon meat, corn and maggots for the best catches.
What facilities are on site?
There are no facilities available at Claremont Farm. The nearby town of Poulton has plentiful shops, pubs and places to eat.
Is parking available?
There is parking space available within the fishery.
