Fishery Information
Croft Fisheries can be found on Huyton Road near Adlington in Chorley, just behind the Pincroft Dyeing and Printing factory. The fishery comprises three unique bodies of water, each of which is supplied with plenty of carp in addition to a variety of coarse fish species, including bream, roach, perch, and tench.
What size do the fish go to?
There have been carp as large as 25 pounds, but only a few mixed bags of fish as large as 20 pounds are caught.
What tactics work well?
Because two lakes are constructed in a snake-like fashion, pole fishing will most likely be the most productive fishing method. During the warmer months, one potentially fruitful fishing strategy involves casting a waggler from a deeper level in the water. The most effective baits are sweet corn and maggots, but you can also use a wide variety of other things.
