Fishery Information
Located in the serene countryside of Ballard, Littleborough, Croft Head is a mixed fishery that offers a great day’s sport for the keen angler. The site is around 2 acres in size and is open to members only. Fishing is permitted during the daytime, and anglers are asked to avoid littering to protect both the site and the wildlife.
The water is healthily stocked with a variety of species including Perch, Roach, Rudd, Tench, Barbel and Carp. There are a total of 25 platforms, with many of them offering easy access to both the elderly and disabled angler.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp tend to come in within the region of 15-20lbs. Bream are frequently recorded at over 7lb, with Barbel reaching as much as 9lbs. On occasion, large carp have even been recorded over 20lbs.
What tactics work well?
Using a feeder with sweetcorn or worms tends to entice the larger Carp. Throughout the warmer months, it is also advisable to utilise pellets and boilies.
