Fishery Information
Situated in a quaint spot in Bolton, Lancashire, Curley’s Fishery is the ideal spot for the keen Trout angler. The reservoir at Curley’s has a deep history, having previously been the water supply to a mill over 200 years ago. Nowadays, the site is home to a stunning 6-acre fly only water and has a healthy stock of Blue and Rainbow Trout.
The are many spacious pegs across the site, all of which offer a variety of fishing features. Furthermore, several of the pegs are fully accessible to the disabled angler. Curley’s Fishery pride themselves on being welcoming to everybody, therefore beginners are encouraged to partake as well as more seasoned Trout Anglers.
What size do the fish go to?
The water is fully stocked with Rainbows, Blues and Goldies, all of which can exceed 15lbs at times.
What tactics work well?
Using a light line is recommended, as well as scented bait because of the Trout’s sharp sense of smell. Wearing bright colours is also a shrew method of enticing fish towards the bait. Moreover, anglers are recommended to move around rather than staying in the same position.
What facilities are on site?
There is an on-site tackle and bait shop which can provide all of the essentials. Clean and accessible toilet facilities are open to visitors.
