The lodge is situated 15 minutes from Longford town in a quiet rural setting, right in the heart of the Upper Shannon & Erne Waterway. There are plenty of activities and local attractions in the surrounding area including pitch and putt, cycling routes, stunning scenery, lakes, fishing and pony trekking. Close by lie the famous Gowna Lakes, the River Inny, River Shannon and the Royal Canal.

Pike fish up to 20lb are common and are particularly attracted to red and white plug bait. Additionally, in 2004, a large number of bream and tench were released into Currygrane by the Fishery Board, and the lake also holds a good stock of roach.
