Fishery Information
Devoke Water is actually the largest tarn in the Lake District. However, it is at an altitude of 766ft which means it has great views when you are fishing it. Because of how high up it is, it means there’s not a lot of plants or vegetation around the edges, this means it suits fly fishermen really well as there’s not a lot to get in the way.
This lake is really deep with the biggest depth being 46ft.
Fishing is great from May onwards as that’s when the fish can be spotted near the surface. For the best results, we recommend fishing in the evening during the summer months.
No matter whether you are an expert or beginner, you will be sure to catch plenty here.
2 trout can be taken home each day.
Motorboats are not allowed on this lake, but rowing boats are.
It is strictly a members-only lake and any members have the right to evict non-members from the lake.
