Fishery Information
Diss Mere is owned and operated by Diss and District Angling Club, who claim this water as ‘the jewel in our crown’. This water is known for its carp, and there are plenty of carp to go around too. There is also plenty of other species around, including tench, roach, rudd and some stunning Crucian carp too. So, if you want to target a new species or target some of the most beautiful carp in Norfolk, Diss Mere is really worth exploring.
What size do the fish go to?
The carp in the Diss Mere go up to just over 30lbs, but there is a good head of 20s and a large stamp of doubles too. If you’re new to carp fishing, your chance at a PB here is very high.
The tench in this lake can get to over 6lbs, there is also roach to over 1lb, and the Crucians are growing nicely as well.
What tactics work well?
The locals of this lake say that the best rig for it is the Slip D Rig, which you can tie yourself or buy ready-ties. The best swims are the ones closest to the boardwalk. For baits, choose a bright bait and use pellets in your free offerings. For those wanting other species, maggot or corn is a great choice, and a favourite method is the method feeder.
What facilities are on site?
There are day tickets and club memberships available for this water.
Is parking available?
