Located in a tranquil setting in Ponteland, Northumberland, Dissington Pond offers excellent fishing to anglers of all levels. The site is an old brick pond which has now been landscaped and tailor made for coarse fishing. Mature woodlands surround the permitter, offering shelter from the elements as well providing a home for numerous wildlife species. Furthermore, long reeds, lily pads and overhanging trees all add to the serene atmosphere of the pond.
He venue boasts a number of spacious swims, several of which are fully accessible to disabled anglers. Importantly, the waters are home to healthy stock of Perch, Bream, Roach and Carp.
What size do the fish go to?
Perch, Bream and Roach typically weigh between 2 and 7lbs. Additionally, Carp often weigh in at double figures, with the larger species exceeding 20lbs.
What tactics work well?
Standard still water tactics work well. Moreover, Worms, sweetcorn and prawns are all popular choices of bait. Also, utilising pellets and boilies during the warmer months tends to bring success.
