Fishery Information

This fishery is run by Newton Abbot Fishing Association.

Dores is our largest water, covering approximately 9 acres. Most swims can be accessed from the Rackerhayes car park, while the backwaters require driving to the end of Homers Lane at Kingsteignton (g.r.869729) and using an Association key to unlock the padlocked gate. Please ensure the gate is locked at all times after accessing or leaving the site.

What size do the fish go to?

This pond holds a large head of carp with numerous twenty and some thirty pound specimens. The tench are superb with the average fish weighing about 6lbs. There are also big eels and excellent bream up to double figures, along with a good number of silver fish and perch.

What tactics work well?

Anglers can use a variety of tactics at Dores, with floating platforms available for Full Senior members to access the water. The pond offers opportunities for carp fishing, tench fishing, and catching bream, eel, perch, pike, roach, and rudd.

What facilities are on site?

Facilities at Dores include several floating platforms, allowing anglers to get closer to the water. Additionally, there is a Rackerhayes car park for easy access to most swims. The site is also equipped with padlocked gates for security.
