Fishery Information
The Essex Leisure Fisheries can be found near South Benfleet and consist of a total of four lakes – two large and two small ones. Overall, all of the lakes are designed as mixed coarse fisheries.
Two of the lakes, the smaller ones, are known as The Piggeries and come with a stock comprised mainly of Bream, Carp, Tench, Roach, and True Crucian. One of the large lakes, on the other hand, comes with above-average Carp, excellent Perch, Bream, Tench, and roach. It also has a couple of Pike specimens that are upper doubles.
Given their stock and size, these fisheries are ideal for both novice and experienced anglers. Moreover, as all of the lakes are lined with large, strong trees, the scorching summer heat won’t be a problem for any visitor/angler.
What size do the fish go to?
Bream of up to 12lbs.
Carp of around 17lbs.
Tench of up to 9lbs.
Roach and True Crucian of average size.
Perch of around 3lbs.
Upper doubles pike.
Carp of around 25-30lbs on the larger lakes.
What tactics work well?
For increased chances to catch any species, we recommend bread, corn, maggots, earthworms, boilies, Jiggly bait, as well as casters.

Is parking available?
Large car and bike park just by the small lakes.
Small parking lots close to the bank of each lake.
