Fishery Information
Situated in Bickershaw, Wigan, Fan Lodge is a serene mixed fishery offering good sport for both the pleasure angler and the more seasoned match fisherman. The lake has approximately 70 spacious pegs, with many of them being accessible to the elderly and disabled angler. The average depth of the water is around 7ft. The waters are healthily stocked with Carp, Bream, Tench, Roach and perch, as well as the occasional Pike.
The venue is open all year round, and night fishing is permitted. The on-site bailiff is always around to offer any pointers and answer any queries.
What size do the fish go to?
There is a good head of Carp ranging between 10-15lbs, with larger carp coming in at 20lbs. Bream, Tench, Roach and Tench can be landed within the region of 2-7lbs. The occasional large Pike has also been recorded ate over 20lbs.
What tactics work well?
Using a feeder with worms or sweetcorn can work well. Pellets and boilies should be utilised during the warmer months. Angers have reported that Halibut pellets on a hair rig is one of their favourite methods.
