Fishery Information
Mike Hawes started the Fenland fisheries with two lakes on a 17-acre site. Today the site has three lakes, Willow, Vermuyden, and Ash Tool. Willow Lake is the specimen lake, and holds carp fish and catfish.
Vermuyden Lake also offers carp fishing through day ticketing or booking on basis. For those that like, Ash Tool is the lake for that. Besides carp. Ash Toll also offers other fish species. Fenland also rears and supplies a strain of premium carp.
What size do the fish go to?
Willow Lake carp can go up to 40lb while the catfish can weigh up to 50lb. A few premium strains can go above 60lb.
What tactics work well?
The carp respond well to all methods, but the conventional tactics of ledgering hair-rigged boilies on two rods tends to pick up the lake’s larger specimens.
What facilities are on site?
Basic amenities and a retail shop at the Ash Tool Lake.
