Fishery Information
Fernhill has three matured, well-stocked fishing lakes nestled into the beautiful village of Milcombe, just south of Banbury. Lake one, just off of the car park, is known as Pleasure Lake. It is the smallest of the three but the most popular as it is absolutely teeming with fish that love to be caught.
The main lake is just a short distance from the first. This lake is for the serious carp angler and boasts some very impressive mirrors and commons, including one called the Beast that was last caught over 30lbs.
Then there is the Match Lake that promises an excellent day’s fishing for local fishing clubs and match groups. You can fish the Match Lake for pleasure too, but only if there isn’t a match when you go.
What size do the fish go to?
The Pleasure Lake has carp up to double figures and very respectable weights of roach, rudd, bream and more.
The Main Lake has the Beast at over 30lbs, as well as a handful of his friends that go to 25lbs.
The Match Lake has a very good head of fish that always provide non-stop action. You’re sure to bag a huge weight of fish on this lake.
What tactics work well?
Fernhill Farm admits that most baits and tactics work wonders on all the lakes. A tin of corn is all you need for a busy day’s fishing here.
What facilities are on site?
There are two static caravans on the farm that anglers can stay in. There are also toilets on-site too.
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available at the farm just next to the lakes.
