Fishery Information
Ferry Meadows is one of the largest national parks in the area, making it an excellent destination for a day trip with the whole family. The diverse landscapes of Nene Park, located in the center of Peterborough and less than five kilometers from the city center, make it a popular place for thousands of tourists throughout the year.
There is plenty for everyone to do at Ferry Meadows, whether you want to stroll, cycle, try some watersports, enjoy a cup of tea in one of the cafés, go fishing, or just explore the meadows, lakes, and woodland.
It is not uncommon for anglers to catch match weights of well over 100 pounds while fishing in the lakes of Ferry Meadows Country Park, Overton, and Gunwade, that have a national reputation for their bream fishing. In addition to bream, the lakes include a healthy population of silverfish, tench, pike, zander, and specimen carp.
Everyone is welcome to take part in the matches held periodically during the spring and summer. the two lakes, share a total of 120 numbered swims, each of which offers a unique combination of amenities to accommodate every situation that may arise.
The Nene Park Trust is responsible for the provision of secure and convenient parking as well as facilities, and P&DAA members are eligible for significant savings on yearly parking tickets within the park. Those who hold a night permit can only fish for a single night at a time and cannot fish for multiple nights in a row.
