Fishery Information
Fields Farm has almost too many lakes to mention. There are five lakes on this site, all promising a brilliant day’s fishing for any type of angler. Whether you are after a new PB carp or you want to take your kids for their first day’s fishing, Fields Farm has it all and plenty more.
Each of the lakes is excellent. Four of the lakes are aimed at match/pleasure style fishing, perfect for beginners or those who love fishing for everything and anything and having a whale of a time all day. The last lake (Sandy Pool) is the ones for the experts. Sandy Pool holds the monsters!
What size do the fish go to?
Most of the lakes on Fields Farm hold impressive examples of every species of fish. Tench grow to over 6lb, roach to a few pounds, chub to 4lb, bream to 4lb and so on. So, even if you don’t fancy catching any carp, you’re still very likely to catch a respectable weight of fish here.
Sandy Pool, though is where the action lies for the big ones. Big ones like Big Bad Barry, who was last caught at 44lb. There are also many of Barry’s friends well in excess of 25lbs. Plus, Barry has some new friends with the latest addition to the lake of catfish that have already reached 40lbs.
What tactics work well?
Every lake is different and fishes differently throughout the year. For most of the match style lakes, good quality groundbait and corn will see you have a blinding day. For Sandy Pool, speak with the owners; they will recommend the best tactics when you arrive.
What facilities are on site?
There aren’t many facilities on-site, but there are good roads for easy access to each lake.
Is parking available?
There is parking available at each lake.
