Fishery Information
Located in the beautiful countryside setting of Appley Bridge, Lancashire, Fir Tree Fishery offers an excellent day’s sport for both the novice and more seasoned angler. The fishery prides itself on being fully accessible to disabled and elderly anglers and has been landscaped with this constantly in mind. There is a selection of spacious pegs around the permitter of the water, with a man-made walkway offering access to all of them.
The waters offer a healthy variety of fish species including Bream, Carp, Tench, Perch and Roach. The fishery operates a catch and return policy. Adult day tickets can be purchased for £7, with concessions and juniors fishing for £5.
What size do the fish go to?
There are a healthy quantity of Carp ranging between 10-15lbs, with the larger Carp reaching as high as 30lbs. Bream, Tench, Roach and Tench can be landed between of 2-7lbs.
There are all sturgeon in the the specimen lake.
What tactics work well?
Only barbless hooks are permitted. Any loose feed pellets must be bought from the fishery itself. Using a feeder with worms or sweetcorn has proven to be effective in enticing larger Carp.
What facilities are on site?
The venue boasts its own tackle and bait shop, which provides all the essential as well as stocking all of the latest tackle and baits. Clean and accessible toilet facilities are located on site.
