Fishery Information
Source material from www.fishingwales.net
Furzemill Lake is a mixed coarse fishery located in Margam Park. The pond has bream, rudd, and two different species of carp. It’s open for fishing from designated areas only, and the far side of the lake opposite the dam and pegs is a conservation area where no fishing is allowed.
What size do the fish go to?
Furzemill Lake has plenty of small carp, bream, and rudd, but specific sizes are not mentioned.
What tactics work well?
Effective tactics at Furzemill Lake include feeder fishing with meat or corn across to the reeds for the carp, or using maggots with a pole or waggler over loose feed for smaller fish action.
What facilities are on site?
Furzemill Lake has a platform for disabled anglers. Please check availability before your visit. It is also a nature reserve, so visitors are asked to help keep the area clean by taking away their litter.
Is parking available?
Parking is available behind the Castle. Fishermen are asked to adhere to the 15 mph speed limit and ensure that hazard lights are on at all times while driving through the park.
